    Hi, there, I'm Ed Howdershelt.
    If you arrived here as a result of clicking a Tripod URL at the end of one of my books, here's why...

    Back in the late 1990's I set up pages here at Tripod because:
1. I had just started writing and didn't know how far I'd go with it,
2. They had 'How-To' guides for everything,
     and
3. They offered competent, dependable web-space free.

    Somewhere along the line my writing became more than a hobby. All of my science fiction titles (about 20) and my post-Civil War semi-western appeared on the bestseller list at Fictionwise.com for a few months each directly following their releases. In fact, that's how I knew I had talent enough to continue.

   Googling me will turn up my titles at various places as well as a quote from 1971: "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo. Please use in that order."-Ed Howdershelt
